Anglo American Minas-Rio Surveillance Audit Report Released
Today the Initiative for Responsible Mining (IRMA) released the audits of Anglo American’s Amandelbult and Mototolo PGM operations against the IRMA Standard for Responsible Mining.
SCS Global Services congratulates the Anglo American Minas-Rio Mine for the completion of its IRMA Surveillance audit and the public release of the audit report. This is the second stage of the comprehensive IRMA responsible mining audit process following the initial audit, which was completed and published in February, 2024.
As part of the full IRMA assessment cycle, mines must undergo a surveillance audit, which is not a full re-audit of every requirement, but independently verifies that the systems established during the initial audit are functioning as intended and that no relevant issues have occurred since then. Completion of a surveillance audit represents an important milestone.
To date, this is only the third site globally to have an IRMA surveillance audit report publicly released. Read the full accounting from IRMA here.
